The Challenge

Due to years of rapid growth, Nextel had numerous generations of its brand identity in place at facilities throughout the US. It was time to unify the brand.

The Solution

Due to our extensive experience with major communication players and our record of successful implementation of large, complex programs, Nextel called on Icon to provide turnkey sign conversion services.

Our teams worked with the Nextel design firm to develop a workable implementation solution. The concept put our engineering capabilities to the test, but with extensive prototyping, we solved the many unique challenges of the Nextel design, including

In conjunction with the design firm, Icon planned and implemented a new, consistent national brand across the vast Nextel footprint—350 locations. And we continue to brand 25 – 35 new sites each year.

The Result

Icon completed this large scale exterior signage program on time and within budget.

Through great design and consistent, high-quality fabrication, Nextel has solidified their strong consumer brand within a highly competitive marketplace.
