Bigger and Greener
Historically, Home Depot signs included a tag line as a separate element and were costly and complicated to service, often requiring multiple equipment that added expense and obstructed customers as they entered the facility.
A change in signage strategy eliminated the tagline signs while allowing additional square footage for a more prominent presentation of the Home Depot logotype.
To expedite implementation and obtain maximum identification, Icon’s in-house permit department submitted plans to local municipalities and oversaw the entire approval process. Icon manufactured new signs to maximize brand impact and also managed all aspects of the field work that included, wall patching and repair, repainting, installation of new signs and environmentally responsible disposal of old signage. At each site, Icon completed the replacement within a 3-day work window.
While the new signs greatly enhance Home Depot’s brand visibility, they also allow conversion from neon to LED resulting in substantial energy savings, reducing costs and support for both company’s green initiatives. Icon continues to refresh existing Home Depot facilities nationwide at a rate of approximately 150 sites per year.
