Turning complexity into completion--worldwide.

Pharmacia faced a highly complex task when it was formed through Pharmacia & Upjohn's merger with Monsanto Company and its G.D. Searle pharmaceutical business unit: planning and managing implementation of the new identity in architectural applications across 180 sites in 54 countries. The customer's goal was to apply the new brand to its 60 primary locations within six months and to complete all sites within the year.
Pharmacia's brand, according to plan.

Icon received a request for project management resources. We were among just a few companies in the world with the experience and infrastructure to handle a project of this scale on a turnkey basis, at a competitive price. This gave the customer an opportunity to gain the significant benefits of single-sourcing the project. Pharmacia hired Icon.

Icon greatly simplified the project by changing how a site was defined--many groups of sites on the original list shared the same general location--which reduced the initial 700-site list to 180. We then created a detailed electronic database, including photographs, documenting each site and determining what was--and was not--needed.

Icon utilized its worldwide network of manufacturing and installation partners to successfully implement the program, assuring the highest level of quality and consistency across all locations.

Icon completed the project well within the established budget and timeframe.
